UNTHA UK has been recognised for its commitment to health and safety.

UNTHA UK has been awarded a prestigious accreditation by third-party accreditation scheme SafeContractor in recognition of its commitment to health and safety.

Supplying industrial shredders that can weigh up to 24 tonnes, UNTHA UK operates in an environment that has the potential to be hazardous. However, with well-established health and safety policies, risk management procedures and robust training, the organisation upholds an exemplary incident-free record. SafeContractor certification is widely recognised as independent evidence of competency, which instils confidence in the organisation’s ability to tackle even the largest or most difficult of projects.

Commenting on the SafeContractor success, which was achieved on the first attempt, UNTHA UK’s chairman Chris Oldfield said: “We have always prided ourselves on our commitment to engineering safe, efficient shredders, which achieve clients’ waste and recycling objectives whilst prioritising the wellbeing of the people responsible for commissioning, operating and maintaining the machinery.

“But self-praise can mean very little to prospective customers who need utmost reassurance that we can execute their project perfectly. This independent certification therefore reinforces our promise to working with maximum respect, compliance and consideration for the wellbeing of our own staff and anyone else we come into contact with on clients’ sites.”

The accreditation is the latest addition to a range of UNTHA UK certifications, including ISO9001 (quality management), ISO14001 (environmental excellence) and the OHSAS18001 standard (for occupational health and safety).
