The Government has brought in a new law to ensure that furloughed employees who are made redundant receive redundancy pay that is based on their normal wage not their furlough pay rate. It also announced a one-off payment of £1,000 to UK employers for each furloughed employee who remains continuously employed until the end of January 2021.
