Training and development for the metals recycling industry

The BMRA is looking for members to join the new Education and Training Committee.
The Committee will identify new education and training offerings and courses that are relevant to the metals recycling industry and to enable operators to build their qualifications portfolio.
“Metal recycling yards are complex and challenging environments in which to work, which is why being able to offer employees relevant training is so important. While some courses will be generic, we hope to identify and work with providers who will offer BMRA members cost-effective training that has been tailored to the industry,” said Antonia Grey, BMRA’s education and training lead.
Once the Education and Training Committee is fully established, it will also be looking at the possibility of introducing a card-based Skills Certification Scheme similar to that used in the construction industry.
If you are interested in joining the Education and Training Committee and have the relevant experience, or would like to nominate someone, please email Antonia on [email protected]
