Information from Defra

Following from Government’s announcement that there would be some instances in which a critical worker could leave self-isolation for the purposes of performing their job, Defra has provided further clarification that this will only apply to a very narrow cohort of critical workers, and will therefore not include those in metal recycling.

If you believe the self-isolation of certain key employees in your workforce would result in serious disruption to critical services, you are asked to contact Defra. Full details of the conditions that need to be met and contact information is in the below link.

This will change on 16 August when, as per the rest of the workforce, workers who have had two vaccinations will no longer need to self-isolate, unless they test positive for COVID-19. In this case, self-isolation remains in place.
