Robin Turner of Walter Heselwood Ltd: “Working in the metal recycling world sometimes makes me feel humble. We see much of today’s engineering 'cast offs' and scrapped production. Occasionally these gems turn up. Sadly, these were due to an old chap recently passing away and his tool shed being cleared out.

The two items were produced in the village I spent my early years (late 1950’s) and I recall visiting the Staniforth factory with its inset railway lines flanked by stone cobbles. 'Little Mesters' produced by hand and steam power and they found their way to millions of tool sheds around the world. Gems!

Delighted to have them and will be adding them to our Sheffield history collection of man-made tools.”
