The Digital Waste Service Team at Defra is looking for companies to sign up to private beta testing prior to it becoming available for public beta, from Spring 2026. A private beta is a way of testing a service or product with a select group of users to gather feedback and iron out any issues during the development.
To join, members must operate one or more licensed or permitted waste receiving sites in the UK and will need to first register an interest to use the service before being invited to take part. Invites to join private beta will be sent in the coming weeks.
How to Sign Up
- Visit the application page: Apply to voluntarily test the report receipt of waste service
- Fill in your organisation’s details and the types of waste you handle.
- If you currently use any software, please share the name of the system and your developer or support contact details.
During the beta phase, Defra will manage personal data to help test and improve the service. We may share data (excluding contact information) with UK environmental agencies to support development and ensure data quality. Data will be securely stored and deleted in line with our retention policy. A full privacy notice will be provided.
