Increase the environmental protection metal recycling provides to this planet

Today is Earth Day. On a day dedicated to environmental protection, BMRA is taking the opportunity to promote its new Sustainability Hub – designed to further increase the environmental protection metal recycling provides to this planet.

Built by BMRA and its members, the Sustainability Hub is designed to enable BMRA members to reduce their operational emissions and enhance their sustainability credentials.

On the hub, you will find a bespoke metals recycling carbon emission calculator that allows members to measure their scope 1 and 2 emissions. If you’re not sure on how to use the calculator, then take advantage of the video tutorial and written guide that explains the tool’s purpose and how to use it.

We also have a series of partnership arrangements with leading climate and energy organisations, who have exclusive offerings for BMRA members to take advantage of.

If you’re considering curating an action plan to reduce your emissions, you can leverage some of the best practice in the industry with BMRA member sustainability reports already uploaded on the hub. Alternatively, we have partnered with Tunley Environmental who are able to offer discounted rates for BMRA members to develop a personalised carbon reduction plan.

We know that for a significant minority of BMRA members, connecting to the National Grid in an attempt to decarbonise can be cost prohibitive. On BMRA’s Sustainability Hub you will find our partnership with Vattenfall who via their ‘Asset Adoption Payments’ and their network of independent connection providers save you time and money when securing new or upgraded electrical grid connections.

For those who are interested in learning more about sustainability, please visit our useful documents and links section where we have a BMRA-written FAQ document answering many of the questions you may have. If you are considering training for your employees, you can take advantage of our partnership with Positive Planet who are offering BMRA members a 10% discount on their carbon literacy training programmes.

We have also partnered with Climate Partner to enable you to learn more about, and purchase, carbon offsets.

Our final partnership on the Sustainability Hub is with Enexus who offer a free energy audit to BMRA members and help members save time and money in their energy management.

Please note that BMRA receives no payment for introducing members to its partners, and any commercial agreement is strictly between the BMRA member and the third-party partner. We have ensured any discount for any of our partnerships is passed directly to you, not to us.
