Yesterday evening, His Majesty’s Treasury announced changes to the Government’s support for non-domestic energy customers.

The announcement, briefed over the weekend, will see the current £18bn support program for non-domestic energy customers replaced with a new “Energy Bill Discount Scheme” worth £5.5bn.

The changes will come into place from April 2023 and will be in place for a year, elapsing at the end of March 2024. Customers do not need to apply for their discount. As with the current scheme, suppliers will automatically apply reductions to the bills of all eligible non-domestic customers.
