Gable Insurance in liquidation

Members are advised that an insurance broker known to the industry, Gable Insurance, has gone into liquidation, which may lead to claims not being compensated. Gable Insurance underwrote recycling businesses as part of their general insurance portfolio, which was primarily property damage and combined liability cover. Unfortunately, this has serious implications as members may not be covered for the full term of their Period of Insurance and valid claims may not be compensated.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) does provide some compensation for unpaid claims, however, there are rules on eligibility that could exclude members on some types of compensation if they are not individuals or companies with a turnover less than £1 million. Full details are provided on the FSCS website
