EV and HEV poster delivered to metal recyclers in membership

Today, the BMRA releases the fourth section – Assessments – of the updated Health and Safety Manual, helping you keep your site a safe

space in which to operate. You can download the section from the link below (login is required):
 www.recyclemetals.org/healthandsafety.

This coincides with the release of the next Health and Safety poster designed for member sites, Safe Handling of EVs and HEVs. Each UK metal recycling site in membership will receive a copy of the poster. Additional posters are available to purchase.

Working with experts in the field, BMRA has updated the Manual to ensure it takes account of changes in legislation and wider health and safety practices.

We are very grateful to member CarTakeBack for supporting the production of this poster.

If there are other topics you would like to see covered, or you would like to discuss other issues in more detail, please do get in touch, [email protected].

A note from our sponsors:

CarTakeBack have been at the forefront of scrap car recycling since 2005. We take pride in the slick, effective and class-leading car recycling service enjoyed by our vehicle manufacturer partners, local authorities, government entities, charities, private businesses and the general public.

Our milestone achievements include: introducing the UK’s first instant price platform for scrap cars; reaching the target of 95% reuse, recycling and recovery target a full two years before they became law; and issuing our five millionth CoD in 2018. in recent years we have been readying for the growth in electric end-of-life vehicles (eELVs) and their batteries.

We have established a safe, compliant and effective service for all aspects of treating eELVs from supporting our ATFs in handling the vehicles right through to EV battery collection and recycling. We are also proud to have worked closely with BMRA in launching an eELV awareness course specifically for ATFs.
