Kings Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

BMRA member, Sackers Ltd, has had a royal welcome as a result of winning the internationally prestigious Kings Award for Enterprise, for International Trade.
As part of receiving the award, one representative from Sackers was invited to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 27 June 2023, for the evening, and network with fellow winners.
Sackers CEO, David Dodds, attended the reception and said: “Getting this recognition was unbelievable, we have faced some incredibly challenging times over the last few years, so to get this was brilliant news. We have been able to fly the Kings Award flag and add the trusted emblem to our literature, but being able to meet our new King hosting this event for the first time as the Kings Award was a real privilege and a very proud moment for me. Meeting the other winners, was the icing on the cake and there was real buzz in the room. We will soon be receiving our crystal and scroll which will be great to have on show for staff and customers to remind them of what a great job we have all done.”
Sackers will be formally presented with a Grant of Appointment scroll and Crystal by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, King Charles’ personal representative at the Sackers Head office in Claydon.
The scheme was established as The Queen's Award to Industry in 1965 and King Charles has continued this tradition as the Kings Award.
The award is to acknowledge "outstanding short-term growth of international trade". Despite the challenging few years with Covid, port strikes, red diesel tax costs, driver shortages, and inflation, the business has successfully achieved substantial growth over the three years. As quoted from the King's office on receiving the news, they said “The last few years have been a challenging time for businesses and this achievement is a testament to the resilience you and your staff have shown throughout these unprecedented times”.
The award lasts for 5 years and allows the business to use the trusted Enterprise Emblem mark on literature and marketing, alongside being permitted to fly the King’s Awards flag, demonstrating Royal endorsement.
The award holds worldwide recognition as an outstanding British company and recognised the increased turnover and growth of international trade. The award has also been proven to boost staff morale including partners and stakeholders in turn attracting a higher-skilled workforce.
