The Carbon Action Committee is looking for interested individuals to join its Committee. Come join members such as WARD, Sims Metal, Recycled Products LTD, Recycling Lives, Walter Heselwood, Metal Interests and Sackers who currently sit on the committee.

The Carbon Action Committee is the British Metals Recycling Association’s dedicated committee for identifying best practice in decarbonisation, as well as promoting the environmental credentials the metal recycling industry has.

In the past year, we have developed posters that detail the economic and environmental cost of idling on site, and stickers, that encourage operatives to turn equipment off where possible, when not in use. We are also currently in the process of developing a bespoke metal recycling carbon calculator tool that will allow members to measure their scope 1 and 2 emissions.

As a member of the Carbon Action Committee, chaired by Jo Upton (WARD), you can expect to attend three to four meetings each year which will either take place virtually or at the BMRA HQ in Huntingdon. Otherwise, all that is required to join the Carbon Action Committee is a passion for supporting the industry decarbonising wherever pragmatically possible.

To express interest in joining the committee, or for more information, please contact Cameron at [email protected].
