Scrap metal regulations
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act (SMDA) 2013 for England and Wales regulates the scrap industry by making it illegal to pay cash for scrap and necessitating dealers to verify the identity of the seller. There is now a similar law in Scotland known as The Air Weapons and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2015.
