BTP has urged metal dealers to be on the look out for lead acid batteries, which may have been stolen.
British Transport Police (BTP) has today urged scrap metal dealers to be vigilent when purchasing lead acid batteries following a spate of thefts from Network Rail in the North East of England. Given the increase in the price of lead, BTP is concerned that these thefts may be replicated across the country.
