Certification demonstrates ongoing commitment to the environment

Following a thorough audit, BMRA member John Lawrie Metals Ltd, is pleased to announce that it has been successfully certified to ISO50001 Energy Management.

Dave Weston, Managing Director of John Lawrie Metals, commented: “This certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the environment and the way in which we conduct and manage our business operations. Our customers can now formally have confidence in our environmental management processes and trust that our procedures are as responsible as possible.”

Eric Valdor, HSEEQ Manager, added: “We have been preparing for this certification for a while now so it’s great news to have it officially in place. This new standard will help protect our future by making a positive difference to our business practices as well as the environment, which has been at the heart of John Lawrie Metals since its inception.”

ISO50001 is an international standard created by the International Organization for Standardization developed for organisations looking to show their commitment to addressing their environmental impact, conserving resources through efficient energy management. This new standard complements the company’s existing ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 accreditations.

With an ever-increasing need for businesses to showcase their commitment to sustainable methods of operation, and with the company’s reputation as one of the forerunners of metal recycling and reuse, it aims to continue to develop and improve its processes to ensure it remains at the top of its game and leading the way in the metal recycling industry.
