BMRA was delighted to officially share yesterday that its President's charity, selected by Susie Burrage OBE, for 2024 is Guide Dogs. 

The charity will receive all of the proceeds from the raffles and auctions held at the Golf Day in June and Annual Dinner in November.

This year, the Association would like to raise enough money to help name and train one or two guide dogs, keeping up with their progress from birth throughout their first year of training.

With the Golf Day less than five weeks away, we are seeking raffle prizes to help us achieve this. 

Past prizes have included cases of champagne and wine, vouchers, sporting tickets, and golf trollies. 

Susie Burrage OBE, President of BMRA said: “BMRA members are always extremely generous when supporting the wonderful causes we highlight each year, and I look forward to supporting Guide Dogs, now and in the future.”

Mandy Loveder, Community Fundraising Relationship Manager for Guide Dogs said, “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at BMRA for choosing us as its President’s Charity of the Year for 2024. It costs over £55,000 to support a guide dog from birth to retirement and Guide Dogs relies almost entirely on donations to keep its services for people with sight loss running."

Let us know if you would like to play but you don’t have enough people for a team. BMRA may be able to team you up with other people to create a four ball.

Golf not your thing?
If you would like to attend but don’t play golf, with its sweeping romantic grounds the Telford Spa and Golf Resort is a picturesque base for exploring the beautiful Shropshire countryside or why not enjoy a day of relaxation and pampering at the on-site Spa?

Summer Dinner
All are welcome to attend the dinner whether attending the AGM and Golf Day or not. The three course meal is £75 plus VAT per person.

About the Telford Golf Resort 
Tee off on a Championship standard course inspired by the world-renowned Augusta. Telford’s large and quick greens are lovingly maintained by a team with over 100 years of experience between them, and with views overlooking the scenic Severn Valley, a round here feels like nothing you’ve experienced before.

Competitions on the day include nearest the pin and the longest drive, along with first, second and third place for the team event and overall individual highest score. There will also be a prize for last place! All prizes will be given out at the Summer Dinner in the evening.
 
The price for a team of four is £600 plus VAT which includes, tea and coffee on arrival at the AGM, breakfast rolls after the AGM, 18 holes of golf (shotgun start), and a three course dinner with tea or coffee.
