Salary: £40,000 FTE (£24,000 pro-rata for 3 days per week)

We are now looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Technician to join our team in Sheffield on a part-time basis (3 days per week).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HS&E professional who wants to make a real impact, shape best practice, and support a culture where safety and environmental responsibility are at the heart of everything we do.
What you’ll do:
- Drive company-wide HS&E excellence by implementing and supporting strategies, policies and procedures across all operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and UK regulatory requirements, maintaining high operational standards.
- Act as the lead HS&E contact during EA and HSE inspections, audits and regulatory visits.
- Identify high-hazard activities and ensure robust risk controls are in place.
- Support and prioritise HS&E training across multiple sites to strengthen competence and awareness.
- Lead or support incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis and corrective action planning.
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on continuous improvement and engagement.
- Work closely with managers across multi-discipline contracts to support risk identification, inspections and audits.
- Develop and maintain Safety Management Systems to ensure they remain effective, compliant and up to date.
What We’re Looking For:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HS&E qualification.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation and its practical application.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, recycling or similar operational environments.
- Ability to analyse incidents and identify practical, sustainable improvements.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with confidence working across all levels of the business.
- Well-organised, able to manage priorities and work independently.
- A proactive mindset and genuine commitment to safety, responsibility and continuous improvement.
