Safety of members is paramount

The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) has taken the difficult decision to cancel its Annual Dinner for 2020. The move reflects both current COVID-19 guidelines and the difficult economic environment faced by many companies.

“With regret, BMRA CEO James Kelly, Vice President Shane Mellor, and I have taken the decision to not hold the Annual BMRA Dinner this year. I know for many of us this is disappointing but, as always, the safety of our members is paramount,” said BMRA President Susie Burrage.

“We all felt that enforcing social distancing rules would not be conducive to members being able to network freely – the main purpose of the event. We also felt that asking members to support the dinner during this challenging time with widespread financial uncertainty and with redundancies being made would not be appropriate. Fingers crossed we will all be back together at next year’s dinner which will take place on Friday 19 November at the Royal Lancaster, London.”
