BMRA has published guidance to help members looking to complete a COVID Secure risk assessment

On 11 May, Government published a series of guidance documents to help companies within different sectors to ensure their business could work safely during COVID-19. As part of this guidance, it advocated companies carrying out a risk assessment to help employers identify tasks, activities and situations that might lend themselves to the transmission of the coronavirus.

Recognising the complex operations undertaken on any metal recycling site, the BMRA has developed overarching guidance to assist in the development of your risk assessment. However, the guidance should not be assumed to be appropriate for every situation; every site is different so different challenges will be found and different measures required.
