Government questionnaire
The Government recently set an ambitious target to reduce the administrative burdens of regulation on business by 25%. It is offering businesses – from sole traders to multinationals – the opportunity to share their opinions to help cut red tape.
Questions being asked include:
- Are regulations in your sector imposing unreasonable costs on your business’s current activities?
- What does your business have to do for regulators’ investigations and inspections which you feel is unnecessary burdensome?
- Do you believe the regulators you deal with adequately support economic growth in your sector?
- Has you business experienced delays by regulators, such as delayed approval/authorisation/licence?
While BMRA recognises that effective regulation provides important protections to consumers, businesses and the wider public, members often tell us that excessive regulation, or poor regulatory practice, are inhibiting growth, innovation and investment.
We would therefore strongly urge members to complete this questionnaire to help us raise greater awareness of the burdens you face. All answers need to be submitted by 16 December 2025.
