CF Booth

BMRA is sad to announce the death of Ken Booth, a prominent figure in U.K. metal recycling and the driving force behind his family owned business, CF Booth in Rotherham for many years.

Born in 1946, he joined the family enterprise at the young age of 13, quickly developing a passion for the metal recycling sector. A passion that remained unwaveringly until the end of his life.

Established in 1920, CF Booth focuses on metal recycling and the manufacturing of metal ingots from both ferrous and non-ferrous metals for import and export in the UK.
It has expanded significantly during Ken and his brother James’ tenure, evolving from a local metal trader to an international trading company through consistent investments in staff, technology, and equipment.

In 2012, the company received the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise for International Trade, a significant milestone that highlighted its exceptional contributions to the industry.

Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy, and their sons Jason and Scott.
