Name: Jamie MacLeod

Job title: Weighbridge Operator

Time spent in recycling: 4 years


What does your job involve?

My job involve weighing in customers over the weighbridge and in the shed, pricing up customer receipts, maintaining up to date records, as well as keeping on top of our monthly sales figures.

What is the hardest part of your job?

There are times we can get really busy between customers in the yard and phone calls etc…..its always a challenge to keep a level head whilst ensuring the customers receive the best service they can.

What three things help you to do your job better?

Having a great team around you really helps. Creating good relationships with customers is vital and finally enjoying your work really helps. There is always something new to learn and it is always interesting.

What are you most proud of in your career?

I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful wee boys and I am proud to know that I can provide for them by working hard at a thriving company with plenty of opportunities to develop. 

What is the best advice you have ever received?

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

What does your job involve?

My job involves helping customers, weighing in Non-Ferrous material and processing metals.

What is the hardest part of your job?

It's getting out of bed.

What three things help you to do your job better?

The three things that make my job better are the forkilft, happy customers and good weather.

What are you most proud of in your career?

Gaining my slew machine qualification and having customers returning because of the service I help to provide. 

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Always carry a magnet and don`t put toast in a toaster.
