BMRA has been delighted to receive copies of two children’s books highlighting the metals recycling and steel industries.

The Steelosaurus character is the brainchild of Helen Hunt. Helen is a children’s author based in Sheffield.

The two beautifully illustrated books, Made in Sheffield (released three years ago) and the recently released, How I Was Made, take children on a journey with Steelosaurus, and his friends, Martha and Tim, as he discovers where and how he was made.

The new book, How I Was Made, tells the story of a metals recycling yard and a steelworks, and educates Steelosaurus, and its readers, about the benefits of metals recycling.

Helen has used her counselling background to create a programme of work in schools centred around the Steelosaurus’s journey exploring metals recycling and its importance to the circular economy. She has enjoyed giving talks at the schools about the book and discussing the messages she is promoting.
