BMRA’s charity for 2024 was Guide Dogs, and as part of the money raised, we were able to sponsor a puppy through its first year of training.

We can’t quite believe that Rusty, who was named by BMRA members, is now nine months old!

Audra, Rusty's Puppy Raiser, has shared that Rusty is growing up fast, and is making really good progress at this stage of his training.

Audra said that Rusty has noticeably grown in confidence over the past couple of months,  especially when heading into busy, loud places, and he 'just loves going out'. He can be 'a bit of a barker' when he feels bored or thinks he’s not getting enough attention, but this has improved a great deal. Audra also said that Rusty's now great at using public transport, which an important skill for pups to learn.

While he’s still a highly energetic young dog, Rusty is also very loving and gentle, especially with Audra's six-year-old grandson. The pair are such good friends, and Audra says it's so sweet to watch them playing together.

Overall, Audra is incredibly proud of Rusty, and she summed him up as 'confident, energetic, and sensitive'.

We hope to meet Rusty in March so look out for new pictures soon.
