Celtic Manor awash with sunshine as members and guests get together for a day of sport.

The sun was out, and everyone was in a fine competitive spirit for the BMRA AGM, summer gala and golf day, which was held at Celtic Manor on Wednesday 27 June.  Metals recyclers, service members and guests came from far and wide to try their luck on the Roman Road course or demonstrate their accuracy at the laser clay pigeon shooting and archery.

BMRA CEO Robert Fell opened proceedings at the AGM with an overview of activities and the particulars from the past year. We are glad to say that all motions passed unchallenged. He went on to talk about the BMRA achievements of the past year. BMRA President Susie Burrage of Recycled Products Limited followed with a speech that included welcoming new members of the BMRA secretariat on board and gave attendees a brief overview of the Association’s successes over the past year.

After a break for coffee and bacon rolls, 17 teams made their way to the course for a shotgun start on the par 70 course with stunning views of the Severn Estuary.

Entertainment was provided by singing duo Skin & Blister Sisters. It was a lively atmosphere with dancing and even an impromptu karaoke performance by one guest.

The event is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends or forge new business relationships in a relaxing setting.
