As per recent bulletins, voting has now opened to elect the new Co-chair of the Young British Metals Recyclers (YBMR).
Voting will run from today the 4th January up until Thursday 11th January. There will be one vote per YBMR member and that vote can only be for one of the two Co-chair candidates.
Our two candidates are Mitchell Garner of Sims Metal and Charlotte Robinson of ELG Metals UK Ltd.
On what they intend to do for YBMR as a Co-chair, Mitchell Garner stated…
“I’m seeking YBMR Co-chair votes with a dedicated focus on elevating YBMR's profile, driving the inclusion of YBMR topics and discussions with the main BMRA board and cultivating a vibrant community by attracting and retaining new members.”
Whilst Charlotte Robinson stated…
“As a young female working within a male dominated industry, it would be an absolute pleasure and achievement to be able to continue the vision of promoting women within the scrap metal trade. Therefore, actively standing as a role model for future generations to come.
"As a Co-chair, it would be a first priority to ensure the growth of new members, maximise outside resources and acknowledge the needs of our members and thereby source and create the opportunity to establish them. I don’t want to be a mouthpiece for members, I want to encourage you all to have a voice and opinion, share ideas and learn from one another to gain knowledge that will push you to be the best version of yourselves in your careers.”
Voting can be made by completing the linked form (or via the button below) and returning it by email to [email protected]. As previously mentioned, you must vote by Thursday 11th January.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact your YBMR lead Cameron via email or by telephone: 07487 545037.
