Thursday 10 September

BMRA is delighted to announce that the BMRA Conference 2026 will take place on Thursday 10 September at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Following the success of the two previous YBMR conferences, the BMRA Conference, which takes place in the stunning Sky Suite, will explore the issues most relevant to BMRA member businesses - from day‑to‑day operations to the major challenges and opportunities on the horizon. Whether your interests are technical, legislative, regulatory, or environmental, the conference will provide valuable insights into the matters shaping our industry.

Speakers include:

  • The Environment Agency's Deputy Director, Waste and Resources Regulation, Chris Deed, will make the keynote address at the upcoming BMRA Conference 2026.  Mr Deed, who met with BMRA on a recent site visit, will discuss how the industry and the EA can work together to enable a more proportionate, risk-based regulatory framework.
  • Jake Kingsley, Operational Readiness Lead at Defra will discuss Digital Waste Tracking (DWT). His presentation will cover the role of DWT in reducing crime and driving efficiency and sustainability, the benefits to the metals recycling sector, the importance of implementation, and how metal recyclers can access the system.
  • Robin Edwards of Onis Consulting and the project lead for the National Infrastructure Crime Reduction Partnership (NICRP) will discuss where the review of the SMDA is, enforcements of the Act and training for police officers, local authorities and yards.

Keep an eye on BMRA’s social media for more speakers’ announcements in the coming weeks.

The BMRA Secretariat will be available throughout the day to answer questions and support members. There will also be some BMRA members hosting a stand in the networking area. These are: Bunting Magnetics, Howden, IDC Europe, Newell Recycling Equipment, N2S, SGM Magnetics and Tradmet Limited. Thanks to them for supporting the conference.

Delegate attendance is £50 + VAT per person which includes lunch. Entrance to the British Motor Museum, home to the world's largest collection of historic British cars, is also included in the price of the ticket. There is also free parking onsite.
